Bad things happen to good people. It rains on both the just and unjust. The good is hardly ever mentioned but the bad is often dwelt upon. Justice against an evil deed is often not speedily executed. Hard, cold facts about life which no one can yet alter. No one; rich or poor, young or old, Indian or white, can say that his or her life has been lived without one of those universal truths manifesting its paradoxical influence every now and again. So overwhelming is the influence that people are often led to question the fairness of life.
We exist in a world where the past and future both resemble and contrast each other. The resemblance is seen mostly in the acts of men, chiefly so the act of war. Why did America invade Iraq and Afghanistan when history has thoroughly taught us that war is not the answer? The results though shocking are no different form earlier wars; wide scale destruction and the untimely death of many, including civilians. What about the Canadian, tender in age, on his own business yet brutally murdered for no apparent reason. Shocking but this is nothing new. What about those people who live so maliciously but yet prosper in every way, whilst the good man is left to question his meager lot? You live your life with a clean record which hardly gets any recognition, then you make one mistake and it becomes the talk of the town; never was there anyone worse. Or maybe you can remember the brutal rape/murder in saltibus; almost a decade later, still no perpetrator. All these are shocking but nothing new.
Whats different then? Nothing really, the only thing that changed is the magnitude of events both man made and acts of God. There exist weapons that could vaporise all life off the face of the earth in an instance. Now thats some new shit! I am left to wonder; wouldn't all the money squandered in research and development of such weapons benefit us more if it was used to feed and educate those poor people in Africa and Ashia? Why are our leaders so interested in taking life instead of giving? Oh, maybe they're preparing to fry an huge comet which dare come on a collision course with earth. Everyday we fight the acts of God. Hurricanes are now more fierce than ever. Earthquakes frequent our plates and leave massive destruction to property and life in their wake. Even Tsunamis are recking havoc upon us. Most of the victims are poor innocent folks;babies, women and those riped in age. Life is so unfair huh? Not totally so. Draw attention to the very existence of life. Life is never done. Life continues after every jolt, after ever shake. We still have food to eat. This very breath is so new yet so old; humans have been doing it for centuries. The rain though it waters the garden of the unjust still blesses the just with life. The aim of life is not to hate but appreciate. Love your enemy. Pray for the wicked and though life is........., treat everyone with fairness.
