One year or a day older?

Having just recently(yesterday) celebrated a birthday, I am left to wonder: am I really one year or one day older? Many people share contrasting views on this matter. However most tend to favor the year old view, simply because on that date, you can officially assume the new age figure. Upon further examination, the the year consist of three hundred sixty five days ( and a quarter to be more precise) thus your special day completes the count. This second point has been widely used to disqualify people who claim their new age figure prematurely(sometimes a couple months prior) of which I am guilty.
Lets gravitate our attention to the less popular day old view;which I tend to favor. It's only logical to say that I am only a day older today. We live in a chronological world of minute increments. A year is made up of the number of days mentioned above and might i stress, individual days. After one comes two and so on. In a broader perspective, this can be compared to a flight of stairs. A complete assertion consists of treading all the treads(no pun intended) from one point to the next. Age is no different; the days have to be fulfilled one by one.Everyday seen, is one more rise completed in the staircase of life.
The question remains; one year or one day older? Well, it depends solely on our individual opinions. We each harbor our own outlook on the chronology of age or life, whether by increments of days or years.

I definitely have to agree with you on this one. I wonder why I never thought of it that way. We are definitely a day older.. a birthday is just an anniversary of the day we were born.. however the day is a new one.. making us older than we were yesterday lol lol... huh?
